Volleyball Splits Matches At East
Stroudsburg Tri-Match
     09/10/05...The Lady Cat volleyball team split a pair of matches at Saturday's East Stroudsburg University tri-match. Pitt Johnstown opened the day with with a 30-27, 30-20, 25-30, 30-20 win over Philadelphia Biblical College, before suffering a 16-30, 25-30, 20-30 sweep at the hands of the host school. The Lady Cats are now 3-4 on the season.
     Pitt Johsntown junior outside hitter Abbey Hrescak (Johnstown, Pa.) led the Lady Cats with 16 kills and four assists aganst Philadelphia Biblical. Freshman middle hitter Casey Jo Ritenour (Latrobe, Pa.) had four blocks and five block assists, while junior defensive specialist Ashley Brant (Johnstown, Pa.) had 18 digs in the victory.
     In Saturday's match against East Stroudsburg, freshman outside hitter Jessica Hmel (Cresson, Pa.) had six kills, while Ritenour collected five more block assists and Brant had 12 more digs. With the victory, East Stroudsburg remained undefeated and improved to 6-0.
     Pitt Johnstown travels to West Liberty State (WV) College on Tuesday. The Lady Cats will play their next home match against Saint Vincent College on Tuesday, September 27 at 7:00 p.m. in the Sports Center.
