2013 Homecoming QueenAnna Macugoski has been crowned the 2013 Homecoming Queen at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown.  Pitt-Johnstown President Jem Spectar crowned Ms. Macugoski at a ceremony held Saturday, September 28 in the gazebo at the campus’ University Square.  Ms. Macugoski, a senior communication and theatre major from Monongahela, Pa., was sponsored by RealWorld Interest Groups. 

Members of the Queen’s court are: first runner-up Chelsea Colby, a senior business – human resources major from Pittsburgh, Pa., sponsored by Alpha Sigma Alpha; second runner-up Ashley Babik, a senior civil engineering technology major from Perkasie, Pa., sponsored by the Society of Women Engineers; Nikki Huber, a senior business marketing major from Pittsburgh, sponsored by Kappa Zeta tied for third runner-up with Lindsay Romah, a senior biochemistry major from Pittsburgh, sponsored by the Student Government Association.

Pitt-Johnstown’s 2013 Homecoming weekend, which is the culmination of the schools 86th anniversary celebration, kicked off Friday evening with a fireworks display on the campus mall and a live performance by Casey Weston, one of the eight finalists in the inaugural season of the television sensation The Voice.  The weekend also included the annual Homecoming parade followed by a performance by Pitt-Johnstown’s own “mad scientist” David Willey and a live zoo.
