Men's Soccer Falls 5-0 to St. Thomas Aquinas in First Round of 2005 UPJ Kick-Off Classic

09/03/05...Head Coach Eric Kinsey's (6th season) Pitt Johnstown Mountain Cat soccer team was unable to find the back of the net and suffered a 5-0 loss to St. Thomas Aquinas (NY) to open the season in the first round of the 2005 Mountain Cat Kick-Off Classic Saturday afternoon. Jon Michael Nabais scored the first of his two goals seven mintues into the match to help St. Thomas Aquinas build a 3-0 halftime lead. The Spartans added two more goals in the second half to earn the victory. Along with Nabais' two goals, Michael Somora, Steven Ocampo and Jeremy Serrano scored for the Spartans. St. Thomas Aquinas outshot the Mountain Cats 9-2. Senior goalkeeper Steve Weimer (Scottdale, Pa.) made six saves for Pitt Johnstown. The Mountain Cats will host Columbia Union (MD) College in the second round of the UPJ Kick-off Classic on Monday at 2:00 p.m.
