Art History Minor

UPJ04_0325_w240

There is a minor in Art History offered at UPJ. In order for a student to qualify for a minor in Art History, they must complete 18-credit hours in Fine Arts courses, with a minimum 2.0 QPA overall for those courses.

Students must take the following two classes:

FA 0015 History of Western Art 1 (3 credits)

FA 0016 History of Western Art 2 (3 credits)

These two courses give a strong, broad overview of the history of art, and naturally lead to further exploration in more detailed surveys of individual periods and movements.

Four other courses (12 credits total) in Fine Arts must be selected from any other course offerings, including (but not limited to):

FA 0150 Ancient Art

FA 0050 Medieval Art

FA 0304 Renaissance Art

FA 0351 Baroque Art

FA 0521 Nineteenth Century American Painting

FA 0031 Modern Art

FA 0491 Contemporary Art

FA 0621 Art of China

FA 0440 Frank Lloyd Wright

FA 0040 Introduction to Architecture

FA 0450 Twentieth Century Architecture

FA 0080 World Religious Architecture

FA 1170 Fine Arts Internship
