Coach Williams Earns Win No. 399
     04/23/13... (Game 1) (Game 2) After suffering a 3-2 loss in the opener, the Mountain Cats got a strong pitching performance from Derek Younker (Big Cove Tannery, Pa.) in a 3-2 victory in the nightcap to salvage a split with West Virginia Wesleyan College, Tuesday evening at Point Stadium.  With the win, Head Coach Todd Williams earned his 399th career victory.  Pitt-Johnstown is now 25-18 overall and 13-14 in the WVIAC Northern Division.
     In game one, the Bobcats erased a 1-0 deficit with two runs in the third inning, before adding an inusrance run in the sixth to secure the 3-2 win.
     Jeff Campbell (Brackenridge) had an RBI double, while Matt McGee (Beech Creek, Pa.) and Sam Barbera (Harrisburg, Pa.) accounted for the only other Mountain Cat base hits.
     Nate Pope (Hollidaysburg, Pa.) pitched the first six innings and allowed three runs on six hits to suffer the loss and drop to 4-3.
     In game two, Pitt-Johnstown broke a 1-1 tie with a pair of runs in the fourth inning and went on to hold off the Bobcats, 3-2.
     Nate Negri (Huntingdon, Pa.) had three hits and an RBI, and McGee added a pair of hits.  Campbell drove in two for the Mountain Cats.
     Younker tossed six innings and surrendered two runs on eight hits to improve to 7-4.  Ryan Socol (Pittsburgh, Pa.) picked-up his third save of the year in a scoreless seventh inning.
     With the split, West Virginia Wesleyan is now 17-23 overall and 12-13 in the WVIAC South.
     The Mountain Cats close out the regular season with a three-game WVIAC Northern Division series against Shepherd (WV) University on Saturday and Sunday at Point Stadium.
