Mountain Cats Split Pair at Lock Haven
     04/20/13... (Game 1) (Game 2) Andrew Keirn (Dillsburg, Pa.) allowed just a run on two hits in a complete-game effort, and Nate Negri (Huntingdon, Pa.) run-producing base hit in the seventh inning gave the Mountain Cats a 2-1 victory to open a non-conference doubleheader at Lock Haven University on Saturday.  Lock Haven earned the split with an 8-7 win in eight innings in the nightcap.  Pitt-Johnstown is now 22-17. 
     In the opener, Negri's one-out pinch-hit single down the left field line plated Jeff Campbell (Brackenridge, Pa.) to break a 1-1 tie in the seventh inning and lead the Mountain Cats to the 2-1 win.
     Matt McMillen (Johnstown, Pa.) had two hits, and Zach Vignero (Johnstown, Pa.) drove in Pitt-Johnstown's first run with a single in the fourth inning.
     Keirn, who improved to 1-4, allowed just one run on two hits in seven innings of work.  Keirn also walked four and fanned seven.
     In game two, Jose Diaz's two-out solo homer in the bottom of the seventh inning off of Campbell knotted it at seven, before the Bald Eagle won it with a run in the eighth.
     Matt McGee (Beech Creek, Pa.) homered and drove in two, while Sam Barbera (Harrisburg, Pa.) had two hits and two RBI for the Mountain Cats.  Ernesto Rizzitano (Pittsburgh, Pa.) collected three hits, and Mike Palkovitz (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) had two hits.
     Campbell took the loss in his first appearance in 2013 after surrendering two earned runs on three hits in 2 2/3 innings.  Logan Fluke (Everett, Pa.) started and allowed four runs on fours hits over the first four innings.
     With the split, Lock Haven is 14-18.  
     The Mountain Cats will host a non-conference doubleheader against Lock Haven on Sunday at 1 p.m., before hosting a WVIAC doubleheader against West Virginia Wesleyan College on Tuesday.  Both doubleheaders will be played at Point Stadium.
