Mingora Second in 3000-Meter Steeple to Lead Track Team
04/13/13...Elena Mingora (York, Pa.) finished second in the 3000-Meter Steeple, and the 4x100-meter relay team also placed second to lead the Lady Cat track and field team at Saturday's Robert Morris University Invitational.
Mingora's time of 14:21.71 in the 3000-meter steeple was good enough for second, while the 4x100- meter relay team of Kelsey Parfitt (Strongstown, Pa.), Brittany Davis (Johnstown, Pa.), Courtney Bridge (Stahlstown, Pa.), and Stephanie Szczur (Johnstown, Pa.) also finished second with a time of 54.45.
Bridge (29'1.75") and Sarah Budelski (27'10.75") were fifth and sixth, respectively in the triple jump, and Erin Lischerelli (Jerome, Pa.) was sixth in the high jump.
Brettlyn Neal (Pittsburgh, Pa.) placed sixth in both the 100-meter hurdles (18.44) and 400-meter hurdles (75.92), and Jen Harold (Leechburg, Pa.) had a personal best 2:34.27 to finish seventh in the 800-meter.
In addition, Szczur (101'6") was seventh and Sarah Hoover (100'7") was eight in the javelin.
On the men's side, Josh Krupa (Bedford, Pa.), competing and an independent, had personal bests of 37'1.75" in the shot put and 111'6" in the discus.
The Lady Cats travel to the IUP Ed Fry Invitational on Saturday and to the Shippensburg University Paul Kaiser Classic on April 27, before ending the 2013 season at the WVIAC Championships in Glenville, WV on May 3-4.
