McDonald Leads Golfers to Fifth-Place Finish at WVIAC Southern Regional

(Complete Results) Kevin McDonald (Erie, Pa.) shot a two-day total of 153 to tie for second and lead the Mountain Cat golfers to a fifth-place finish at Monday and Tuesday's 2013 WVIAC Southern Regional Tournament at Berry Hills Country Club in South Charleston, W.Va.  Ohio Valley (WV) University's Mark Pritt earned medalist honors, but Bluefield State (WV) College claimed the team title on a tiebreaker over Davis & Elkins (WV) College.
     McDonald opened the tournament with a 5-over 75 on Monday, before shooting a 78 on Tuesday to finish at 13-over par and tie for second-place with Concord (WV) University's Evan Muscari and Bluefield State's Jeff McGraw.
     Along with McDonald, Zach McQueen (Freeport, Pa.) tied for 14th (159, +19), Josh Miller (Spring, TX) tied for 22nd (164, +24), and Mike Macionsky (Duncansville, Pa.) tied for 25th (165, +25).  Max Bondi (Allison Park, Pa.) finished 61st (193, +53) to round out the Mountain Cats who competed.
     Bluefield State won the team championship (630, +70) on a tiebreaker over Davis & Elkins (630, +70).  The University of Charleston (WV) and Concord tied for third (634, +74), while Pitt-Johnstown placed fifth (641, +81) in the 13-team field.
     The Mountain Cats travel to the West Chester University Invitational on Sunday and Monday, before closing out the 2013 season at the IUP Invitational on April 15-16.
