Cardinals Down Mountain Cats 13-3
     04/07/13... (Box Score) Wheeling Jesuit (WV) University ran out to a 9-0 lead in the fifth inning on its way to dealing the Mountain Cats a 13-3 conference loss, Sunday afternoon at Point Stadium.  Jake Warner (Dillsburg, Pa.) collected four hits for Pitt-Johnstown, now 17-13 overall and 8-10 in the WVIAC Northern Division.
     Jordan Kraus had four hits, including three doubles and five RBI, to help the Cardinals build the 9-0 lead, before Wheeling Jesuit added four more runs in the seventh to set the final 13-3.
     Warner Went 4-for-5 five to lead the Mountain Cats.  Kyle Morrow (McVeytown, Pa.) and Zach Vignero (Johnstown, Pa.) each had two hits and drove in a run, while Mike Palkovitz (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) and Matt McGee (Beech Creek, Pa.) had two hits apiece.
      Nate Pope (Hollidaysburg, Pa.) took the loss for Pitt-Johnstown and fell to 3-1 after surrendering seven earned runs on eight hits in four innings.
      Kraus started and earned the win for Wheeling Jesuit.  Kraus gave up three runs on eight hits over the first five innings.  Garrett Sancomb pitched four scoreless innings in relief to pick-up the save.
     Wheeling Jesuit improved to 10-20 overall and 7-12 in the WVIAC North.
     The Mountain Cats host a conference doubleheader against Concord (WV) University on Tuesday, before hosting Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College for a three-game WVIAC Northern Division series on Saturday and Sunday.  All games are scheduled to start at 1 p.m. at Point Stadium.
