     04/02/13... (Game 1) (Game 2)  Nate Pope (Hollidaysburg, Pa.) tossed a complete-game shutout to lead the Mountain Cats to a 4-0 win at the University of Charleston (WV) in Tuesday's WVIAC doubleheader opener.  The Golden Eagles answered with two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning in game two to earn the split with a 11-10 victory.  Pitt-Johnstown is now 16-11 overall and 7-8 in the WVIAC North.
     In game one, Pope, who raised his record to 3-0, surrendered just four hits, struckout six, and didn't allow a walk in the complete-game shutout.
     Matt McGee (Beech Creek, Pa.) was 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI.  Kyle Morrow (McVeytown, Pa.) had three hits, while Jeff Campbell (Brackenridge, Pa.) and Zach Vignero (Johnstown, Pa.) each collected two hits.
     In the nightcap, the Mountain Cats raced out to an 8-0 lead after one inning, but Charleston battled back to tie it in the seventh on a sacrifice fly, before an RBI single gave the Golden Eagles the 11-10 walk-off win.
     Mike Palkovitz (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) went 4-for-5 with a pair of RBI, and Vignero added two hits and drove in one.  McGee also had two hits for Pitt-Johnstown in the loss.
     Derek Younker (Big Cove Tannery, Pa.) took the loss and dropped to 4-3 after allowing both runs in the seventh inning.  Kody Reighard (Salix, Pa.) started and gave up seven earned runs on seven hits in 2.2 innings.
     With the split, Charleston is now 11-16 overall and 8-8 in the WVIAC Southern Division.   
     The  Mountain Cats will host a three-game WVIAC Northern Division series against Wheeling Jesuit (WV) University on Saturday and Sunday, before hosting a conference doubleheader against Concord (WV) University on Tuesday.  All games are scheduled to start at 1 p.m. at Point Stadium.
