     03/24/13... (Box Score) MIke Palkovitz (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) and Jeff Campbell (Brackenridge, Pa.) each belted homeruns, but West Liberty (WV) University used a run in the bottom of the ninth inning to break a 6-6 tie and walk off with a 7-6 win over Pitt-Johnstown, Sunday afternoon at Consol Engery Park in Washington, Pa.  The Mountain Cats, who suffered one-run losses in each of the three games to the Hilltoppers, fell to 12-8 overall and 3-5 in the WVIAC Northern Division.
    Palkovitz's two-run homer in the seventh helped the Mountain Cats erase a 4-1 defict, before Campbell homered in the eigth to put Pitt-Johnstown up 6-4.
     However, West Liberty knotted it in the bottom of the frame, before a one-out base hit to center field in the bottom of the ninth plated the game-winning run for the Hilltoppers.
     Nate Pope (Hollidaysburg, Pa.) went 3-for-5, and Palkovitz had a pair of hits, including the two-run homerun.  Kyle Morrow (McVeytown, Pa.) and Zach Vignero (Johnstown, Pa.) each added two hits, while Campbell and Jake Warner (Dillsburg, Pa.) both drove in a run.
     Andrew Keirn (Dillsburg, Pa.) took the loss out of the bullpen after allowing a run on two hits in one inning of work.  Ryan Schnably (Bedford, Pa.) started and allowed four runs on seven hits in 3.1 innings.
     With the win, West Liberty improved to 11-7 overall and 9-0 in the WVIAC Northern Division.
     The Mountain Cats host a WVIAC doubleheader against Glenville State (WV) College on Wednesday, before hosting Seton Hill University for a three-game conference series on Friday and Saturday.  All games are scheduled to start at 1 p.m. at Johnstown's Point Stadium.
