 Mountain Cats Drop Two at West Liberty
(Game 1) (Game 2) West Liberty (WV) University used unearned run in both games of Saturday’s doubleheader to hand the Mountain Cats 1-0 and 4-3 WVIAC losses Saturday afternoon at Consol Energy Park in Washington, Pa.  Pitt-Johnstown dropped to 12-7 overall and 3-4 in conference-play.
     In game one, the Hilltoppers scratched out an unearned run in the fifth inning off of Mountain Cat starter John Fees (Carrolltown, Pa.) to secure the 1-0 win.
     West Liberty pitcher Mark Smyth tossed a complete-game three-hit shutout to earn the win.
     Fees took the loss after allowing the one unearned run in six innings of work.  Fees, who slipped to 2-2, scattered four hits and fanned five.
     In game two, West Liberty used three Mountain Cat errors in the fourth inning to break a 3-3 tie in a 4-3 win.
     Nate Pope (Hollidaysburg, Pa.) went 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Jeff Campbell (Brackenridge, Pa.) and Matt McGee (Beech Creek, Pa.) each had a hit and an RBI for Pitt-Johnstown.
     Derek Younker (Big Cove Tannery, Pa.) pitched a complete game for the Mountain Cats but took the loss and fell to 3-2.  Younker  surrendered four runs (3 earned) on six hits.
    The Mountain Cats wrap-up the series against West Liberty with a single-game at noon on Sunday, before hosting a WVIAC doubleheader against Glenville State (WV) College on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Johnstown's Point Stadium.
