Mountain Cats Sweep Marion in Florida
     03/10/13... (Game 1) (Game 2) Jeff Campbell (Brackenridge, Pa.) and Jake Warner (Dillsburg, Pa.) each drove in two runs in the fifth inning of the opener to help the Mountain Cats erase a 2-0 deficit in a 5-2 victory over Marion (IN) University, Sunday afternoon in Fort Pierce, Fla.  Pitt-Johnstown completed the sweep and improved to 7-1 with a 4-1 victory in the nightcap.
     In game one, Marion built a 2-0 lead, but the Mountain Cats loaded the bases, before Campbell and Warner each drove in a pair of runs with base hits in the four-run fifth inning.  Matt McMillen's (Johnstown, Pa.) RBI single in the sixth added an insurance run and set the final at 5-2.
     Nate Pope (Hollidaysburg, Pa.) improved to 1-0 after allowing two earned runs on nine hits in six innings of work.  Pope also fanned nine.  Ryan Socol (Pittsburgh, Pa.) struckout two in a perfect seventh inning to earn the save.
     In game two, Matt McGee (Beech Creek, Pa.) broke a 1-1 tie in the sixth with a single up the middle that plated Kyle Morrow (McVeytown, Pa.) and Zach Vignero (Johnstown, Pa.), before Nate Negri (Huntingdon, Pa.) drove in a run to make it 4-1.
     Negri finished with two hits and two RBI, while Mike Palkovitz (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) and Vignero each had two hits.
     Rylan Schnably (Bedford, Pa.) got the win and improved to 1-0 after giving up just on run on five hits in five innings.  Billy Beard (Altoona, Pa.) tossed a perfect sixth inning, and Andrew Keirn (Dillsburg, Pa.) picked-up the save after striking our a pair and retiring the side in order in the seventh.

     The Mountain Cats continue their Spring Trip in Fort Pierce, Fla. with single games against Nyack (NY) College on Monday, Southern Connecticut State University on Tuesday, Palm Beach Atlantic on Wednesday, and Mercy (NY) College on Thursday.
