     02/21/13... (Box Score) West Liberty (WV) University erased a 13-point deficit with under six minutes to play to force overtime, before outscoring the Lady Cats 17-9 in the extra period in a 98-90 victory over Pitt-Johnstown, Thursday night in the Sports Center.  Kaitlynn Fratz (Accident, MD) and Nicole Carman (Cleveland, OH) each scored 24 points to lead the Lady Cats, now 14-10 overall and 12-9 in the WVIAC.
     The Lady Cats got 13 points apiece from Fratz and Nicole Carman and shot 55% to open up a 16 point first half lead.
     Pitt-Johnstown scored the first nine points of the game, before a Rachel Johnson (Palmyra, Pa.) lay-up and two Jasmine Harper (Cleveland Heights, OH) free-throws extended it to 19-4 at the 15-minute mark.
     A 13-4 run by West Liberty, capped by three free-throws from Jasmin Kiley, cut it to 23-19 4:30 later, but the Lady Cats answered right back with 3-pointers from Leah Hansen (Waterford, Pa.) and Fratz and a bucket from Carman to quickly rebuild the lead to 14.
    Pitt-Johnstown pushed the lead to as many as 16 with two minutes left, before going into the halftime break up 48-34.
     The Hilltoppers opened the second half on a 15-6 behind eight of Hillary Southworth's game-high 43 points to cut it to 59-54, but the Lady Cats rebuilt the lead to 13 at 74-61 on a Fratz bucket with 5:29 to play.
     However, West Liberty outscored Pitt-Johnstown 16-2 over the next 4:49 to take its first lead of the night at 77-76.
     It see-sawed back-and forth over the final 1:10 until Fratz's free-throw with six seconds left tied it at 81 and forced overtime.
     However, it was all Hilltopers in the extra period.  Wests Liberty opened-up a 92-86 advantage with 2:10 on the clock and went on to defeat Pitt-Johnstown, 98-90.
     Carman and Fratz each scored 24 points to pace four Lady Cats who scored in double figures.  Inaya Stephenson (Pittsburgh, Pa.) had 10 points and six rebounds, and Kelsey Sleighter (Uniontown, Pa.) chipped-in 10 points.  Harper scored eight points, and Johnson pulled down a team-high nine rebounds in the loss.
     Pitt-Johnstown ended the evening shooting 45.8% (33-72) from the floor, 9-24 from 3-point range, and 15-21 from the free-throw line.  After shooting just 36% in the first half, the Hilltoppers shot 59% in the second half to finish at 50.7% (37-73) for the game.  West Liberty was also 3-12 from behind the 3-point line and 21-23 from the charity stripe.
     Southworth's 43 points and eight rebounds led all scorers.  West Liberty also got 24 points from Meghan Wiseman, 10 points from Kiley, and a game-high 11 rebounds from Jordan Stacey to improve to 18-7 overall and 16-5 in the WVIAC.
     The Lady Cats close out the regular season with a Senior Day doubleheader with the Mountain Cats on Saturday against Seton Hill University, before opening the 2013 WVIAC Tournament on Monday. The Lady Cats will tip-off on Saturday at 1 p.m., with the men's game to follow at 3 p.m.
