     01/28/13... (Box Score) The Lady Cats shot 57% from the floor and hit 35-37 free-throws en route to a 90-80 WVIAC at Shepherd (WV) Univesity on Monday.  Kaitlynn Fratz (Accident, Pa.) scored 24 points to lead six Lady Cats who scored in double figures to help Pitt-Johnstown win it fourth straight game and seventh in its last eight.  The Lady Cats are now 11-7 overall and 9-6 in conference-play.
     Five straight points from Fratz and a jumper from Grace Hyland (Pittsburgh, Pa.) helped the Lady Cats race out to a 13-4 lead four minutes into the game.
     Shepherd countered with a 16-6 run over the next six minutes to go up 20-19 on Emily Daniel's 3-pointer, before Alex Tamez's fastbreak basket at 6:01 increased the Rams lead to 28-25.
     Pitt-Johnstown came right back with a 13-4 spurt to rebuild its lead to six.  A pair of Kelsey Sleighter (Uniontown, Pa.) 3-pointers and one from Rachel Johnson (Palmyra, Pa.) put the Lady Cats up 38-32 at 1:36, before Fratz connected on a pair of free-throws with 32 seconds to give the Lady Cats a 40-37 halftime advantage.
     Nicole Carman's (Cleveland, OH) bucket early in the second half extended the leaad to six.
     A Jimyse Brown free-throw at 13:31 knotted it at 52, but two more 3-pointers from Sleighter extended it back to seven at 61-54 with just under 11 minutes to play.
     Shepherd cut it to three, but the Lady Cats scored six straight to push it out to nine, then to 11 at 83-71 on Johnson's free-throws with 1:51 to play.
     The Rams never got any closer than six the rest of the way, and Pitt-Johnstown went on to the 10-point victory.
     Fratz was a perfect 14-14 from the free-throw line and led Pitt-Johnstown with 24 points and six assists.  Sleighter made four 3-pointers and finished with 18 points, while Hyland had 16 points.  Inaya Stephenson (Pittsburgh, Pa.), Johnson, and Carman all had 10 points.  Carman and Stephenson also had seven and six rebounds, respectively.
     The Lady Cats ended the night shooting 57.1% (24-42) from the field, 7-16 from 3-point range, and 94.6% (35-37) from the free-throw line.  Shepherd shot 41.3% (26-63) from the floor, 5-16 from behind the 3-point line, and 23-28 from the charity stripe.
     Daniel led all scorers with 29 points and six rebounds, and Alex Weakland chipped-in 13 points and five rebounds for the Rams, who slipped to 8-10 overall and 7-7 in the WVIAC.
     The Lady Cats host WVIAC doubleheaders with the MountainCats against Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College on Thursday and Glenville State (WV) College on Monday.  The Lady Cats will tip-off both doubleheaders at 5:30 p.m., with the men's game to follow at 7:30 p.m.
