No. 12 Wrestlers Down Millersville, 28-19

(Results) Dave Fogle (Summerhill, Pa.), Keith Ryan (Shirleysburg, Pa.), and Travis McKillop (Lower Burrell, Pa.) all won by fall to help the 12th-ranked Mountain Cat wretlers erasse four-point deficit midway through the match in a 28-19 victory at Millersville University on Saturday. Pitt-Johnstown improved to 4-2.
A 9-0 win by Samuel Oberlander at 125 lbs. to open the match put Millersville up 4-0, but the Mountain Cats quickly opened-up a 9-4 advantage. Eighth-ranked Fogle (133 lbs.) build a 10-0 lead after two periods, before pinning Kyle Loeb at 6:26, and Dave Cawley (Pittsburgh, Pa.) shutout David Charles, 7-0 at 141 lbs.
The Mauraders regained the lead, with wins at 149 lbs. and 157 lbs. Joshua Ruppert pinned Jack Bachman (Greensburg, Pa.) at 2:51, and Zac Wawrzyniak-Bush scored a 5-3 decision over Joel Paolo (Weirton, WV) to put Millersville in front 13-9.
However, the Mountain Cats responded in a big way by winning four of the final five matches, including a Ryan pin over Austin Wenzlaff at 1:26 in the next bout that put Pitt-Johnstown in the leaad for good.
Gary Lantz (Delta, Pa.) then earned a 14-1 major decision over Zach Pincus at 174 lbs., and eighth-ranked McKillop (184 lbs.) followed by pinning Tyler Hoover at 1:47 to increase the lead to 25-13.
Nikos Garafola (Greensburg, Pa.) pushed it out to 28-13 with a 9-5 win at 197 lbs., before Millersville's Bradley Ladd pinned Josh Duplin (Johnstown, Pa.) (285 lbs.) at :37 to set the final at 28-19.
With the loss, Millersville dropped to 0-2 on the season.
The Mountain Cats return home to host Lake Erie (OH) College on Friday at 7 p.m. in the Sports Center, before traveling to Gannon University on January 15.
