     12/01/12... (Box Score) Davis & Elkins (WV) College battled back from a 13-point halftime deficit to force overtime, but Nicole Carman's (Cleveland, OH) basket with seven seconds to play in the extra period led the Lady Cats to a 73-72 WVIAC victory over the Senators, Saturday afternoon in Elkins, W.Va.  Pitt-Johnstown evened its overall record at 3-3 and improved to 1-3 in the WVIAC.
     After a somewhat slow start that saw the Lady Cats hold a 15-14 advantage 13 minutes into the first half, Pitt-Johnstown used a 20-9 run to go up by a dozen with just over a minute left.
     Kayla DeCriscio's (Altoona, Pa.) 3-pointer pushed the lead into double digits, before a Rachel Johnson (Palmyra, Pa.) jumper in the lane gave the Lady Cats their largest lead of the half at 35-23.
     Davis & Elkins answered with a 3-pointer of its own to cut the deficit to 35-26 at the half.
     The Senators scored five of the first seven points to open the second half to cut it to three, but Kelsey Sleighter (Uniontown, Pa.) hit a pair of 3-pointers to extend it back to 12 at 45-33 four at the 16-minute mark.
     Another bucket in the paint from Johnson built the lead to 50-37, before Davis & Elkins outscored Pitt-Johnstown 18-8 to pull to within three at 58-55 at the 5:35 mark.
     Carman's basket ended the run and put the Lady Cats back up by five with under five minutes on the clock, but the Senaotrs eventually took a 64-63 lead with 2:30 remaining.
     A Kaitlynn Fratz (Accident, MD) basket a minute later gave the lead back to pitt-Johnsotwn, before Davis & Elkins tied it at 65 with a free-throw with 23 seconds left to send it to overtime.
     In the overtime, Jorden Lykes put the Senators in front by one with just over a minute left, but Carman's lay-up proved to be the game-winner when Davis & Elkins' shot at the buzzer bounced off the back of the rim.
     Carman led four Lady Cats who scored in double figures with 18 points and five rebounds.  Fratz finished with 17 points, six rebounds, and a game-high eight assists, and DeCriscio had 13 points, including three-3-pointers.  Sleighter rounded out the Lady Cats who scored in double figures with 11 points.
     Lykes had game-highs of 22 points and 14 rebounds, and Page Turner added a double-double of 15 points and 10 rebounds to lead Davis & Elkins, which fell to 1-3 overall and 0-2 in conference-play.
     The Lady Cats will be back in action on December 15 when they host a WVIAC doubleheader with the Mountain Cats against Wheeling Jesuit (WV) University.  Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. in the Sports Center.  After breaking for the holidays, Pitt-Johnstown will host a non-conference game against Lock Haven University on December 30 at 2 p.m.
