Assistant Professor of Psychology (Experimental)

The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown (UPJ) invites applications for a tenure-stream, full-time position at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Psychology.  The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, founded in 1927, is the first and largest regional campus of the University of Pittsburgh.  A vital knowledge center and a foremost contributor to the region’s educational, social, cultural, and economic development, UPJ provides a first-class educational experience that is purposefully designed to prepare students for the real world of the 21st century.  UPJ offers a supportive living-learning environment that is grounded in the liberal arts and sciences, is current, and is responsive to both our students’ personal and professional needs, and the needs of our communities.  Our campus is located on 650 picturesque acres in the Laurel Highlands of Pennsylvania, 70 miles east of Pittsburgh.  Additional information on our institution is available on our web site:

Responsibilities include a 12-hour teaching load per term and an active research program including supervision of undergraduates, along with departmental, divisional, and college-wide service activities.  Teaching duties will include Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Statistics and Lab, Psychology of Learning and Advanced Seminars in one’s specialty area. Additional courses, such as Psychopharmacology, Research Methods or Child Development may be available also.

Qualifications include:
• Applicants must have a doctoral degree in Psychology, August 26, 2013, with a concentration in Experimental Psychology.
• Relevant Teaching Experience
• Experience conducting research
