Volleyball Falls to D&E in First Round of WVIAC Tournament 
     11/12/12... (Box Score) For the second time in three days, the Lady Cat volleyball team and Davis & Elkins (WV) College battled to five sets.  However, this time, the 12th-seeded Senators outlasted #5-seeded Pitt-Johnstown for a 3-sets-to-2 victory Monday night in the Sports Center to end the Lady Cats' season and advance to the WVIAC Quarterfinals in Charleston, WV.  Pitt-Johnstown season ends at 18-8.
     Davis and Elkins defeated Pitt-Johnstown 13-25, 25-23, 13-25, 25-21, and 15-13.
     Ashley DiRado (Greensburg, Pa.) had 11 kills and seven block assists, and Kelsey Shanabrook (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) had 11 kills and 10 digs to lead the Lady Cats.  Karen Schmidt (Boswell, Pa.) collected nine kills, 19 digs, a block solo and a block assist, while Larissa Swank (Boswell, Pa.) finished with seven kills and three block assists.
     Kayla Petrilla (Johnstown, Pa.) (20 assists) and Nikki Oakes (Pittsburgh, Pa.) (18 assists) combined fro 38 set assists.  Kelsey Kohler (Johnstown, Pa.) tallied a match-high 23 digs, and Katie Svetahor (Latrobe, Pa.) had 11 digs.
     Davis & Elkins, now 5-21 on the year, will take on fourth-seeded Fairmont State (WV) University in the WVIAC Quarterfinals on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. at the University of Charleston (WV).
