Service Learning

Service learning provides an opportunity for students to enhance their educational experiences with the combination of hands-on experiential learning and theoretical/classroom learning.

• As part of the learning process, students participate in multi-level projects and work experiences conducted at their service site.
• Students use reflection to engage in classroom discussions, and complete reflective essays and or journals.
• Students learn about the role of non-profit organizations and the benefit of service learning for the community and their educational expereinces.
• Students discuss their experiences with volunteerism or service learning and share their ideas for community partnerships.
