10/24/12... (Box Score) If the Lady Cat soccer team could come away with a least a tie at Davis & Elkins (WV) College, Pitt-Johnstown would secure its first ever WVIAC Tournament berth.  However, it wasn't to be.  The Senators jumped out to a 2-0 first half lead and went on to defeat the Lady Cats, 3-0, Wednesday afternoon in Elkins, W.Va.  Pitt-Johnstown is now 11-6-0 overall and ended the WVIAC schedule with a 5-5-0 mark.
Allison Dant opened the scoring for Davis & Elkins in the fifth minute off of a Taylor Morton assist, before Emma Davis made it 2-0 on a penalty kick in the 40th minute.
The Senators then set the final at 3-0 when Kayla Petrella finished Morton's corner kick in the 72nd minute.
Ashley Winkelspecht earned the shutout in goal for Davis & Elkins after making four saves.  Timi Shiock (Punxsutawney, Pa.) allowed three goals and didn't make a save in net for Pitt-Johnstown.
With the win, the Senators improved to 11-3-2 overall and 5-3-2 in conference-play.  In the process, Davis & Elkins jumped the Lady Cats in the conference standings and earned a spot in next week's WVIAC Tournament.
The Lady Cats wrap-up the 2012 season with a non-conference match at Carlow University on Saturday.
