Track Ends Season at WVIAC Championships
     03/04/13... (Results) Stephanie Szczur (Johnstown, Pa.) placed fifth in the Javelin, and Kelsey Parfitt (Strongstown, Pa.) broke the Pitt-Johnstown school-record in the 400-Meter to lead the Lady Cat track and field team at Friday and Saturday's season-ending WVIAC Championships at Glenville State (WV) College.
     Szczur placed fifth in the javelin with a throw of 111'05", while Sarah Hoover finished seventh in the javelin (100'02").
     Parfitt set the school record and placed sixth in the 400-meter at 61.15, and Brettlyn Neal (Pittsburgh, Pa.) finished ninth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 72.88.
     The Lady Cat 4x400 relay team of Parfitt, Brittany Davis (Johnstown, Pa.), Erin McMahon (Pittsburgh, Pa.), and Amanda Schriver (Chambersburg, Pa.) finished sixth at 4:19.99, while the 4x100 relay team of Schriver, Davis, Szczur, and Parfitt placed seventh at 52.15.

Sergeyev Qualifies for WVIAC Championships in 5,000-Meter
     04/29/13...Stella Sergeyev (Lancaster, Pa.) became the 14th Lady Cat to qualify for this weekend's 2013 WVIAC Championships at Glenville State (WV) College when she posted a time of 20:28.35 in the 5,000-meter run at the Shippensburg Paul Kaiser Classic on Saturday.

14 Track Athletes Qualify for WVIAC Championships
     04/22/13...Thirteen female and one male Pitt-Johnstown track and field athletes have qualified for the 2013 WVIAC Championships at Glenville State (WV) College on May 3-4.

The following track members have qualified for the WVIAC Conference Championship meet May 3-4 in Glenville, WV.

Track Fares Well at IUP Invitational
     04/20/13...Elena Mingora (York, Pa.) placed eighth in the 300-meter steeple, and Sarah Budelski finished seventh in the triple jump to pace the Lady Cat track and field team at Saturday's IUP Ed Fry Invitational.
     Mingora's time of 14:16.6 was good enough for seventh in the 300-meter steeple, while Budelski's 29'7.25" in the triple jump gave her a seventh-place finish and qualified her the the WVIAC Championships.
     Courtney Bridge (Stahlstown, Pa.) placed eighth in the triple jump (28'11.75"), and Kelsey Parfitt (Strongstown, Pa.) was eighth in the 400-meter.
     In addition, Brettlyn Neal (Pittsburgh, Pa.) qualified for the conference championships in the 400-meter hurdles (73.8), and Amanda Schriver (Chambersburg, Pa.) earned a spot in the WVIAC Championships in the 100-meter dash (13.45).
     Zac Muto became Pitt-Johnstown's first male athlete to qualify for the championships with a throw of 132'10" in the javelin.
     Pitt-Johnstown travels to the Shippensburg University Paul Kaiser Classic on Saturday, before closing out the season at the 2013 WVIAC Championships in Glenville, W.Va. on May 3-4.
