Dr. Reist teaches courses which explore the history of China and Japan from the classical to the modern period, and courses dealing with the Vietnam War, and the pacific theater of World War II.  She additionally offers the Western Civilization sequence.  She has written a number of articles dealing with political, social and military aspects of the East Asian area, and specializes in the American military presence in China in the first half of the twentieth century.
