Men's Golf Sixth at WVIAC Northern Regional
     10/08/12...(Full Results) Kevin McDonald (Erie, Pa.) shot a two-day total of 154 to tie for 13th-place and lead the Mountain Cat golfers to a sixth-place finish at Sunday and Monday's 2012 WVIAC Northern Regional Tournament at the par-71 Speidel-Jones Course at Oglebay Resort in Wheeling, W.Va.  The University of Charleston's (WV) Jamin Smith earned medalist honors with a 5-over 147, but Concord (WV) University claimed the team title with a 602.
     After opening the tournament with a 75, McDonald shot a 79 on Monday to tie for 13th and lead Pitt-Johnstown at 12-over par (154).  Mike Macionsky (Duncansville, Pa.) tied for 23rd at +16 (77, 81,), and John Bush (Pittsburgh, Pa.) tied for 30th at 19-over par (80, 81).  In addition, Zach McQueen (Freeport, Pa.) tied for 32nd (+20, 77, 85), and Max Bondi (Allison Park, Pa.) was 45th at +27 (86, 83) for the Mountain Cats.
     Concord won the team championship with a 602, seven shots better than second-place Charleston (609).  Davis & Elkins (WV) College (61) was third, while Bluefield State (WV) College (611), West Liberty (WV) University (629), and Pitt-Johnstown (633) rounded out the top-six in the 13-team field.
     The Mountain Cats wrap-up the fall season at the 2012 WVIAC Championships at Glade Springs Resort in Daniels, W.Va. from October14-16 .
