ATH12_232_STEFFENL_TLady Cats Battle Back to Defeat Seton Hill on Senior Night
     10/14/12... (Box Score) Lauren Steffen (Halifax, Pa.) and Janna Stoup (Carlisle, Pa.) scored second half goals less than a minute apart to erase a 1-0 deficit and lead the Lady Cat soccer team to a 2-1 Senior Night victory over Seton Hill University, Sunday evening at Richland High School.  Pitt-Johnstown improved to 10-4-0 overall and moved into third-place in the WVIAC standings at 5-3-0.
     Seton Hill took a 1-0 lead on Katelyn Wiater's goal 39 minutes into the match.
     However, Pitt-Johnstown answered with a pair of quick goals midway through the second half.  Steffen knotted it at one off of a free-kick from 40 yards out in the 70th minute.  Just after Seton Hill put the ball back into play, the Lady Cats regained possession at midfield.  Jackie Becerra (Saddle Brook, NJ) played a through ball into a break away for Stoup, who netted her 14th goal of the season about 30 seconds after Steffen tied it.  That proved to be the game-winner for Pitt-Johnstown.
     Timi Shiock (Punxsutawney, Pa.) allowed one goal and made eight saves to earn the win in goal for the Lady Cats.  Bethany Winter took the loss for Seton Hill after allowing two goals and making five saves.
     With the loss, the Griffins dropped to 7-6-1 overall and 3-3-1 in the WVIAC.
     Prior to the match, Pitt-Johnstown honored this year's seniors...Laura Hoehn (Braddock Hills, Pa.), Gena Pentz (Johnstown, Pa.), Kelsey Richardson (Scottdale, Pa.), and Lanie Thompson (Pittsburgh, Pa.).
     The Lady Cats travel to Point Park University for a non-conference match on Wednesday and to Shepherd (WV) University for a WVIAC match on Sunday.
