Cross Country Places 12th at WVIAC Championships
10/25/08...Berlyn Hubler (Allport, Pa.) placed 43rd with a personal best time of 28:42 to lead the Lady Cat cross country team to a 12th place finish at Saturday's season-ending WVIAC Championships at Wheeling Jesuit (WV) University. Brenna Haggerty won the individual title with a time of 23:48 on her way to guiding West Virginia Wesleyan College to the team championship.
Hubler, who set her personal best time by nearly 1:30, finished 43rd, while Heidi Mooney (Shippensburg, Pa.) placed 44th at 28:52. Olivia Ragno (Johnstown, Pa.) finished 64th (32:00), followed by Jen Conard (Willow Grove, Pa.) (71st, 35:33), Danielle Palmer (Ligonier, Pa.) (75th, 37:05) and Sarah Cordek (Davidsville, Pa.) (79th, 40:28).
West Virginia Wesleyan won the team championship with 41 points, followed by Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College (44 pts.), Wheeling Jesuit (75 pts.), Concord (WV) University (95 pts.) and Seton Hill University (101 pts.). PITT-JOHNSTOWN finished 12th in the 13-team field with 297 points.
Cross Country Finishes 9th at Pitt Greensburg Invitational
10/04/08...Olivia Ragno (Johnstown, Pa.) placed 43rd with a time of 31:07 to help the Lady Cat cross country team to a ninth place finish at Saturday's Pitt Greensburg Bobcat Invitational. Penn State-Behrend won the team championship, while Waynesburg University's Megan Grover claimed the individual title with a time of 24:10.
Along with Ragno, Paige Sarnowski (Pittsburgh, Pa.) placed 51st (32:42) and Jen Conard (Willow Grove, Pa.) finished 61st (35:08). Sarah Cordek (Davidsville, Pa.) placed 66th (36:58)and Danielle Palmer (Ligonier, Pa.) placed 67th (37:28) to round out the Lady Cat runners.
Penn State-Behrend won the team title with 37 points, followed by Waynesburg (44 pts.), Point Park University (93 pts.), Hiram College (104 pts.) and Thiel College (130 pts.). Pitt Greensburg (161 pts.), Chatham College (178 pts.), Mount Aloysius College (226 pts.), and PITT-JOHNSTOWN (243 pts.) rounded out the field.
