(Box Score) Beth Kendera (Johnstown, Pa.) had 15 kills and Kelsey Shanabrook (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) added 13 kills to help the Lady Cat volleyball team battle back to force a fifth set, but it wasn't enough, as Pitt-Johnstown suffered a 3-2 WVIAC loss to Fairmont State (WV) University, Wednesday night in the Sports Center.  The Lady Cats droppd to 6-4 overall and 0-3 in the WVIAC.
     After winning set one, 25-22, the Lady Cats suffered 25-20 and 25-19 losses to fall behind 2-1.  A come-from-behind 25-23 victory in set four force a fifth set, but it wasn't to be.  Pitt-Johnstown lost it 15-11.
     Along with her 15 kills, Kendera had two block solos and three block assists, while Shanabrook had 13 kills, a block solo and a block assist.  Karen Schmidt (Boswell, Pa.) rounded out the Lady Cats with double-digit kills with 11.  She also collected 11 digs.
     Kayla Petrilla (Johnstown, Pa.) (26 assists) and Nikki Oakes (18 assts.) combined for 44 set assists, and Kelsey Kohler (Johnstown, Pa.) finished with 31 digs to lead Pitt-Johnstown.
     With the win, Fairmont State improved to 8-5 overall and 3-0 in the WVIAC.
     The Lady Cats will host WVIAC matches in the Sports Center against Concord (WV) University on Friday at 7 p.m. and Bluefield State (WV) College on Saturday at 1 p.m., before traveling to the Susquehanna University Crusader Classic on October 6.
