vs. Concord (WV) University - 09/22/12

     09/22/12... (Box Score) Marc Bucci (Pittsburgh, Pa.) scored to get the Mountain Cats to within a goal with four minutes to play, but Pitt-Johnstown was not able to tie it up and suffered a 3-2 WVIAC loss to Concord (WV) University, Saturday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.  The Mountain Cats dropped to 0-7-0 overall and 0-3-0 in conference-play.
     Richard Vincent notched the lone goal of the first half to put Concord up 1-0 at the break.
     Pitt-Johnstown answered to tie it when Zeke Buchta (Mount Pleasant, Pa.) scored off of Eddie Stover's (New Kensington, Pa.) long goal kick five minutes into the second half.
     However, the Mountain Lions followed with goals in the 54th and 63rd minutes to build it lead to 3-1 with 17 minutes remaining in regulation.
     The Mountain Cats kept their hopes alive when Bucci beat Concord goalkeeper Mitchell Thompson in the 86th, minute, but that was as close as Pitt-Johnstown would get.
     Stover allowed three goals and made four saves for the Mountain Cats, while Thompson faced 25 Pitt-Johnstown shots, allowed a pair of goals, and made six saves to earn the victory.
     With the win, Concord improved to 2-5-1 overall and 1-3-0 in the WVIAC.
     The Mountain Cats travel to California University (PA) for a non-conference match on Tuesday, before returning home to host a Homecoming match against Ohio Valley (WV) University on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
