Mountain Cats Drop WVIAC Opener at W.Va. Wesleyan
     09/16/12... (Box Score) Matthew Brown scored two of West Virginia Wesleyan College's four first half goals to lead the Bobcats to a 6-0 victory over the Pitt-Johnstown in the Mountain Cats' WVIAC opener on Sunday.  Pitt-Johnstown dropped to 0-5-0 overall and 0-1-0 in conference-play.
     West Virginia Wesleyan jumped on the Mountain Cats early.  Nicholas Amberman made it 1-0 four minutes into the match, before Jordan Halpern increased it to 2-0 in the 14th minute.
     Brown followed with two staright goals of his own to build the lead to 4-0 at the break.
     The Bobcats continued with second half goals from Sam Turner and Robert Brenton to close out the 6-0 win.
     Eddie Stover (New Kensington, Pa.) surrendered all four goals in net for the Mountain Cats to fall to 0-4-0.  Derek Ayers secured the shutout for West Virginia Wesleyan, which outshot Pitt-Johnstown 16-1.  Ayers saw just the one shot, but didn't have to make a save.
     With the victory, the Bobcats improved to 4-1-0 overall and 2-0-0 in the WVIAC.
     The Mountain Cats host a WVIAC match against Wheeling Jesuit (WV) University on Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field, before hosting another conference match against Concord (WV) University on Saturday at 1 p.m.
