Mountain Cats Drop Home Opener to #25 Slippery Rock
     09/11/12... (Box Score) 25th-ranked Slippery Rock University broke open a one goal halftime advantage with a pair of second half goals to ruin the Mountain Cats' 2012 home opener with a 3-0 victory, Tuesday afternoon at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.  The Mountain Cats fell to 0-4-0.
     The Rock, which climbed into the top-25 for the first time this year, opened the scoring in the 38th minute when Michael Ramirez finished Chris Davis' cross in the box.
     Mike Roopchandsingh made it 2-0 eight minutes into the second half, before Ryan Lutke finished the scoring with a goal in the 85th minute to set the final at 3-0.
     Eddie Stover (New Kensington, Pa.) suffered the loss in goal for the Mountain Cats and fell to 0-2-0.  Stover saw 22 Slippery Rock shots, made three saves, but surrendered all three goals.  Clayton Master earned the shutout after making three saves to help The Rock stay unbeaten and improve to 3-0-2 on the season.
     The Mountain Cats open the WVIAC schedule at West Virginia Wesleyan on Sunday, before hosting a conference match against Wheeling Jesuit (WV) University on Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 4 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
