     09/03/12... (Box Score) Laura Hoehn (Braddock Hills, Pa.) and Janna Stoup (Carlisle, Pa.) each scored second half goals to erase a 1-0 halftime deficit and lead the Lady Cat soccer team to a 2-1 non-conference victory over Shawnee State (OH) University, Monday afternoon at Richland High School.  Pitt-Johnstown improved to 2-1-0.
     Shawnee State jumped out to a 1-0 lead when Brittany Brooks took Allison Nagle's through ball and found the back of the net behind Lady Cat goalkeeper Timi Shiock (Punxsutawney, Pa.) 20 minutes into the match.
     The Bears held that slim advantage for the next 34 minutes until Hoehn finished Jackie Becerra's (Saddle Brook, NJ) cross into the box to even the score.
     Five minutes later, Stoup netted the eventual game-winner off of a through ball from Savanna Wingard (Johnstown, Pa.).
     Shiock improved to 2-1-0 after allowing one goal and making three saves for the Lady Cats, who held a 24-9 advantage in shots.  Shelbi Halverson suffered the loss for Shawnee State.  Halverson gave up both Pitt-Johnstown goals and made seven saves.
     With the loss, the Bears dropped to 1-3-0 on the year.
     The Lady Cats travel to Westminster College for a non-conference match on Thursday, before opening the WVIAC schedule at home against Concord (WV) University on Wednesday, Sept. 12 at 1 p.m. at the Pitt-Johnstown Soccer Field.
