     08/30/12... (Box Score) Janna Stoup (Carlisle, Pa.) scored a pair of first half goals to help the Lady Cat soccer team build a three-goal halftime advantage on its way to a 5-3 season-opening victory over Lincoln University, Thursday evening at Richland High School.
     Stoup opened the scoring 25 seconds into the match, before adding her second of the night 18 minutes later to give Pitt-Johnstown an early 2-1 lead.
     Maura Koshute (Johnstown, Pa.) and Jackie Becerra (Saddle Brook, NJ) followed with goals of their own in the 22nd and 32nd minutes to make it 4-1 at the break.
     Tara O'Brien, who notched all three Lincoln goals, scored on a penalty kick and a free kick to cut it to 4-3 with 23 minutes remaining, but Laura Hoehn (Braddock Hills, Pa.) tacked on an insurance goal for the Lady Cats in the 75th minute to set the final at 5-3.
     Timi Shiock (Punxsutawney, Pa.) played the first 65 minutes in goal for the Lady Cats and picked-up the win after allowing a pair of goals.  Shiock made six saves.  Rebekah Schultz (Allison Park, Pa.) and Sierra Shaub (Lancaster, Pa.) shared the rest of the match in net and combined to allow one goal and make one save.
     Sima Sinforosa took the loss for Lincoln after allowing all five goals and making seven saves.
     The Lady Cats will host non-conference matches against Ursuline (OH) College on Saturday and Shawnee State (OH) University on Monday.  Both matches will kick-off at 2 p.m. at Richland High School.
