     07/26/12...Pitt-Johnstown senior guard Nick Novak (Murrysville, Pa.) has earned a spot on the 2012 Global Sports Select/All-Star Basketball Team that will train, compete, and tour in Belgium and Holland from August 5-13. The team is scheduled to play five games... (2012 Roster and Travel Itinerary) 
     Novak is one of eight members of the team that will be coached by California University (PA)'s Bill Brown. Four Division II players, three Division I players and a Division III player comprise this year's roster. 
     Novak, a First-Team All-WVIAC selection following the 2011-12 season, led the Mountain Cats in both scoring (19.5 ppg.) and assists (4.1 apg.) as a junior.  He ranked nationally in three statistical categories, including 17th in field goal percentage (58.5%), 30th in scoring (19.5 ppg.), and 42nd in free-throw percentage (85.8%).  Novak will enter his senior season at Pitt-Johnstown ranked eighth on the Mountain Cat All-Time Scoring List (1,409 pts.) and seventh on the all-time assists list (384).
     In 2011, Pitt-Johnstown Bill Luther (Gibsonia, Pa.) was on Global Sports Academy's basketball squad that toured Belgium, Germany and England.
     Global Sports Academy provides this opportunity that allows the student athlete to act as an ambassador representing the United States and their respective institution, while competing internationally.
     Global Sports Academy (GSA) is a not-for-profit organization participating in domestic and international competition since 1991. GSA was initially established to provide athletes overseas playing opportunities in Ice Hockey and it has grown to support a total of 12 different sports that compete in 25 different countries throughout the world. Our mission is to arrange athletic competition between equally matched teams at all levels and to "Promote International Goodwill" and a better understanding between nations through sports.
