Morrow, Warner Tabbed First-Team All-WVIAC Baseball
     05/10/12...Mountain Cat sophomore catcher Kyle Morrow (McVeytown, Pa.) and sophomore second baseman Jake Warner (Dillsburg, Pa.) were named First-Team All-WVIAC Baseball, while senior outfielder Drew Westover (Flinton, Pa.) and sopohomore right-hander Derek Younker (Big Cove Tannery, Pa.) each earned a spot on the second-team when this year's teams were released on Thursday.   Shepherd’s Nathan Minnich was been named the WVIAC Player of the Year while Seton Hill’s Alex Haines was tabbed the Pitcher of the Year. Seton Hill's Marc Marizzaldi garnered WVIAC Coach of the Year accolades as voted on by league coaches...      Morrow, a second-team all-conference as a freshman a year ago, hit .319 with 12 home runs and a team-best 48 RBI.  Morrow also led Pitt-Johnstown in total bases (103), was second in runs (41) and third in double (14).
     Warner joined Head Coach Todd Williams' starting line-up in 2012 and batted .393 on his way to leading the Mountain Cats in hits (66), doubles (17), triples (4), and runs (47).  Warner also belted three home runs and drove in 25.
     Westover and Younker both secured spots on the second-team.   Westover, a four-year starter and 2011 Honorable Mention All-WVIAC choice, hit .358 with a team leading 13 homers.  Westover also collected 43 RBI, 10 doubles, and scored 36 runs.  Younker, who started the season in the Pitt-Johnstown bullpen before joining the starting rotation, finished his sophomore season with a 6-1 record and a 2.20 ERA in 49 innings-pitched.  Younker also fanned 33, while allowing just 12 base-on-balls.
     Minnich, the co-WVIAC Player of the Year a season ago, batted .500 during the regular season to lead the conference. He blasted 21 homers and drove in 66 runs. Minnich tallied 68 hits in 46 games.
     Haines posted a 6-1 record during the regular season.  He worked just 60.2 innings on the year and struck out a league-best 97 batters.  Haines tossed two complete games and also had a save.  Haines posted an ERA of 4.60 and allowed just 31 earned runs on the year.
     Marizzaldi guided Seton Hill to a 30-4 record in league action with a power rating of 221.47. He led the squad to a 42-8 overall mark. The Griffins also hold the top spot in the Atlantic Regional rankings. It marks the second consecutive season that Marizzaldi has won the award.
