

For so many of us, the Log Cabin has been the site of some great events: bands, parties, mixers, and good times. It's where we let loose, forgot about finals, and lived in the moment. It's where some of our best memories were made and lifelong friendships were started. It's almost impossible to have a conversation with a Pitt-Johnstown alum without recounting those fun times at the Log Cabin. It's the shared icon of our lives and is forever part of our Pitt-Johnstown experience.
Unfortunately, the Log Cabin is in desperate need of updating. As a result, very few events can be held there anymore. No parties, no Alumni or Greek events, no music. The Cabin sits quiet on weekends. Current students, for the most part, only know this building with closed doors.
It's time to open the doors, again!
The Pitt-Johnstown Alumni Association – YOUR Alumni Association – has taken on the mission of reopening the Log Cabin. Our goal is to raise $360,000. Your gift will help in three ways:
==> Open the Cabin for current students! Help our younger generation, and future alumni, enjoy the same fun times that we all had.
==> Open the cabin for Alumni events! We can use the Cabin for Homecoming, mixers, and private Greek events.
==> Open the cabin for retreats and meetings! Can you think of a more unique venue to hold your next retreat?
With more than 19,500 alumni, our goal is well within reach. As an Association, we need to speak with one voice through strong financial support. This is the biggest project ever undertaken by the Alumni Association…and it gives YOU an opportunity to make a difference at your alma mater!
In appreciation of your support, a donor recognition wall will be placed in the log cabin recognizing donors at the following levels*:
- Platinum Circle ($10,000 or more)
- Scholar's Circle ($5,000 to $9,999)
- Millennium Society ($1,000 to $4,999)
*Donors at these levels will also qualify for the President's Circle in the Annual Honor Roll of Donors and be invited to attend a campus event recognizing leadership in annual giving.
Save the Log Cabin – Team Challenge
We've issued a challenge! Any officially recognized student organization, including fraternities and sororities, can register as a team to raise money to Save the Log Cabin. The teams raising the most money will be permanently recognized at the Log Cabin. You can chose to have your donation become part of a team's overall total simply by indicating the name of the team on your pledge/donation form (you will still receive the gift credit for tax purposes). This is a perfect way for alumni to show their support not only for their alma mater, but for their most cherished organization.
