     04/26/12... (Game 1) (Game 2) The Mountain Cats used strong pitching and home runs from Jake Warner (Pittsburgh, Pa.), Nathan Pope (Hollidaysburg, Pa.), and Drew Westover (Flinton, Pa.) to sweep a pair of West Virginia Conference games from Davis & Elkins (WV) College on Senior Night, Thursday at the Point Stadium.  Pitt-Johnstown improved to 23-23 overall and 16-15 in the WVIAC North.  
     In the opener, Warner and Pope each hit solo home runs to lead the Mountain Cats to a 4-2 win. 
     Warner's solo homer over the left field screen with one out in the bottom of the first inning gave the Mountain Cats a 1-0 lead,but Treavor Dubiel's two-run double in the top of the second Gave the lead to Davis & Elkins.
     Pitt-Johnstown answered with two in the third to regain the lead.  Warner drew a bases loaded walk to tie it, and Kyle Morrow (McVeytown, Pa.) followed with a sacrifice fly to center to score Jeff Campbell (Brackenridge, Pa.).
     Following a 44-minute rain delay going into the bottom of the fourth, Paul Tunink (Indiana, Pa.) came in in relief of of starter John Fees (Carrolltown, Pa.) and held the Senators scoreless for two innings, before Pope belted a solo homer down the left field line to make it 4-2 after six innings.
     Tunink set down Davis & Elkins in order in the seventh to secure the victory and earn his first save of the year.
     Warner homered and drove in a pair, while Pope hit a solo homer.  Morrow added a double and an RBI.
     Fees improved ot 4-4 after two runs on six hits in four innings.  Fees also fanned four and walked one.
     In game two, the Mountain Cats opened-up an 8-0 lead after two innings and cruised to the sweep with an 8-1 win.
     Pitt-Johnstown sent 10 men to the plate and struck for five runs in the first.  Zach Vignero (Johnstown, Pa.) tripled to center to lead off the inning and scored on Warner's double down the right field line.  Westover singled up the middle to chase home Warner.  Three batters later, Westover scored on an error by Brad Banzhoff, before Joe Galbraith (Brookville, Pa.) drove in two with a base hit to center to make it 5-0.
     Westover's long three-run home run to straight away center field in the second inning extended it to 8-0.
     Mountain Cat pitchers Andrew Keirn (Dillsburg, Pa.) and Heath Singer (Newville, Pa.) did the rest.  Keirn held the Senators to just one run on three hits in five innings to improve to 4-1.  Singer tossed the final two scoreless innings and surrendered just one hit.
     Westover went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and four RBI, while Warner doubled, tripled, drove in one and scored twice.  Vignero added two hits, and Galbraith singled and drove in a pair.
     Davis & Elkins fell to 16-28 overall and 11-18 in the WVIAC Southern Division.
     Between games, Head Coach Todd Williams and the Mountain Cats recognized this year's seniors...Joe Novotny (Johnstown, Pa.), Galbraith, Tunink, and Westover.
     The Mountain Cats travel to Shepherd (WV) University to wrap-up the regular season with a three-game WVIAC Northern Division series on Saturday and Sunday.
