     03/31/12... (Game 1) (Game 2) Jake Warner (Dillsburg, Pa.) drove in thre runs in game one, and Kyle Morrow (McVeytown, Pa.) belted a three-run homerun in game two to lead the Mountain Cats to an 11-8 and 9-3 sweep over West Liberty (WV) University, Saturday afternoon at the Point Stadium.  Pitt-Johnstown improved to 17-11 overall and 10-3 in the WVIAC Northern Division.
     In the opener, the Mountain Cats banged out 13 hits and built an 11-5 lead in the 11-8 victory.
     The Mountain Cats took a 1-0 in the second.  Drew Ebersole (Martinsburg, Pa.) doubled to lead off the inning, moved to third on a balk, and scored on Mike Palkovitz' (Mechanicsburg, Pa.) single to right field.
     West Liberty struck for three runs off of Mountain Cat starter John Fees (Carrolltown, Pa.) in the top of the third, but Pitt-Johnstown sent nine men to the plate in the bottom of the inning and scored five runs on six hits to retake the lead 6-3.
     The Hilltoppers got two runs back in the fourth on an RBI single by Andrew Henry and run-producing double off the left field screen by Taylor Snare.
     However, Pitt-Johnstown loaded the bases with no outs in the bottom of the frame and added four more runs to build then ead to 10-5.
     Warner's sacrifice fly plated Nathan Pope (Hollidaysburg, Pa.) in the Mountain Cat fifth to make it 11-5, before going on to the 11-8 win.
     Nate Sabados (DuBois, Pa.) went 3-for-3 with a pair of runs, while Warner doubled and drove in three.  Morrow, Palkovitz, and Ebersole all had two hits and two RBI.  Zach Vignero (Johnstown, Pa.) also had a pair of hits and an RBI.
     Fees pitched the first four innings and allowed five runs (4 earned) on nine hits to improve to 3-2.  Ryan Socol (Pittsburgh, Pa.) tossed a perfect seventh inning to earn his second save of the year.
     In the nightcap, the Mountain Cats fell behind 2-0 early, but outscored the Hilltoppers 9-1 the rest of the way to secure the sweep with a 9-1 victory.
     West Liberty jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning, before Joe Galbraith's (Brockway, Pa.) RBI groundout in the fourth cut the Pitt-Johnstown deficit to 2-1.
     The Mountain Cats added four more runs in the fifth to go in front 5-2, and four more in the sixth, highlighted by Morrow's long three-run homerun to left, to put the game away.
     Morrow had two hits, including the three-run homer, and drove in four, and Jeff Campbell (Brackenridge, Pa.) chipped-in two hits and a pair of RBI.  Vignero was 2-for-2 with two runs, while Galbraith, Sabados, and Palkovitz each had an RBI.
     Andrew Keirn (Dillsburg, Pa.) picked-up the win in relief of starter Pope, who threw three innings and surrendered two runs (1 earned).  Keirn worked three scoreless innings and scattered two hits to improve to 2-1.
     West Liberty fell to 8-14 overall and 2-8 in the WVIAC North.
     The Mountain Cats wrap-up the three-game WVIAC series against West Liberty Sunday at noon at the Point Stadium, before traveling to Glenville State (WV) College for a conference doubleheader on Tuesday.
