     02/18/12... (Box Score) Kaitlynn Fratz (Accident, MD) scored a game-high 19 points, and Nicole Carman (Cleveland, OH) added a double-double of 14 points and 10 rebounds to help the Lady Cats turn a nine-point halftime advantage into a 69-55 WVIAC victory at West Virginia State University on Saturday.  Pitt-Johnstown improved to 13-11 overall and 11-9 in the WVIAC.
     Fratz netted the first five points, before Carman scored in the paint to help the Lady Cats race out to an 11-3 lead five minutes into the game.
     After West Virginia State cut it to 16-12 on a Janelle Williams' free-throw at 11:28, Pitt-Johnstown answered with a 12-2 run over the next 3:30, capped by a lay-up and free-throw from Amber Smith (Morgantown, WV), to build the lead to 28-14.
     Two more Williams' free-throws got the Yellow Jackets to within six with just over two minutes left in the half, but Kelsey Sleighter (Uniontown, Pa.) hit a  3-pointer on the Lady Cats's next trip down the floor to increase the lead to 33-24 at the break.
     Baskets by Jasmine Blanton on West Virginia State's first two possessions of the second half, and a jumper from Asia Greenlead at 16:33 made it a three-point game at 35-32.
    Pitt-Johnstown, which led wire-to-wire, countered with 3-pointers by Sara Trimarco (Hollidaysburg, Pa.), Carman, and Sleighter to pushed the lead back out to 11, then 12 at 49-37 on Carman's free-throw with 11:35 to play.
     Greenleaf's basket with 12 minutes to go cut the deficit to eight, but another Carman 3-pointer and two free-throws from Fratz closed out a 9-0 Lady Cat spurt to build the lead to 58-41.
     Pitt-Johnstown never let the Yellow Jackets get closer than 13 in the double-digit win.
     Fratz led all scorers with 19 points, six rebounds, and four assists, while Carman had 14 points and a game-high 10 rebounds.  Sleighter finished with 10 points and five rebounds, and Trimarco tallied nine points, six rebounds, and four assists.  Rachel Johnson (Palmyra, Pa.) also grabbed eight rebounds for the Lady Cats.
     Jordan Brock had 16 points, and Blanton chipped-in 13 points for the Yellow Jackets, who dropped to 10-14 overall and 7-13 in the WVIAC.
     The Lady Cats travel to West Virginia Wesleyan on Wednesday, before returning home to celebrate Senior Day and close out the regular season with a conference doubleheader with the Mountain Cats against Seton Hill on Saturday, Feb. 25.  The Lady Cats will tip-off at 1 p.m. with the men's game at 3 p.m.
