The University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing is offering the Fast Track Back (FTB) program beginning April 3, 2013. The program provides RNs who have not been actively practicing, with current trends and skills needed to seek employment caring for adult med-surge patients in an acute setting.
The program consists of 6 sessions of theory (33hours) and 45 hours of clinical. Theory sessions meet every Wednesday from April 3 to May 8 from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm in Pittsburgh. Clinical consists of 6 days between May 13 and 25 and may be done in Johnstown in the Conemaugh Health System.
Students wishing to complete the clinical component in the Conemaugh Health System must have a current PA RN license, child abuse and felony clearances, physical exam, 2 step PPD, urine drug screen, Rubella, Rubeolla and Varicella Zoster, tetanus within 10 years, CPR, and HIPPA education prior to beginning clinical experience.
Students work with a clinical preceptor under the supervision of Dr. Nancy Grove.
The cost for the program is $1,500.
