Non-tenure-stream position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the Division of Education beginning August 2012.
Responsibilities: Teaching content and methods courses for the Early Childhood program, including literacy and mathematics methods and classroom management. The applicant fulfilling this position will be expected to participate in curriculum development, supervise field and clinical experiences in Early Childhood, advise undergraduate students, work collaboratively with stakeholders, engage in appropriate scholarship/professional development and university service activities and uphold the mission and goals of the Education Division.
Doctorate in Early Childhood or a related field; a minimum of three years teaching experience at the Pre-K – 6 level with a focus on language arts/reading; and a strong commitment to developing partnerships with local schools. Some background in Early Childhood mathematics, special education and or second language acquisition (ESOL) is strongly preferred. Successful teaching and or supervision experience at the college level is desirable. The candidate must also demonstrate the potential to engage in continuous scholarship/professional development. ABD applicants will be considered with expectation of doctoral degree completion by start of appointment.
