12/10/11... (Box Score) Kaitlynn Fratz (Accident, MD) scored 14 points to help the Lady Cats cut a 14-point second half deficit to four with two minutes to play, before Pitt-Johnstown suffered a 79-71 loss at WVIAC leading Concord (WV) University on Saturday.  The Lady Cats dropped to 0-7 overall and 0-5 in the WVIAC.
The Lady Cats answered each Concord run with a run of their own to keep the first half close.
Concord ran out to a 9-2 lead 2:28 into the game, but Pitt-Johnstown cut it to 13-11 on a Fratz jumper 3:20 later.
Andrea Bertrand gave the Mountain Lions their largest lead of the first half at 21-11, before Amber Smith (Morgantown, WV) hit back-to-back 3-pointers to cap a 9-0 Pitt-Johnstown run and get the Lady Cats to within one.
Jolysa Brown's basket at the seven-minute mark rebuilt Concord's lead to 25-20.  However, Pitt-Johnstown battled back to take its first lead at 31-29 on Kayla Loughner's (Brinklow, MD) third 3-pointer of the first half.
The Lady Cats extended it to 36-31 on another Loughner bucket at 2:37, before going into halftime up 38-37 on two Fratz free-throws with two seconds remaining.
After Loughner scored on Pitt-Johnstown's first possession of the second half to extend the slim lead to three, the Mountain Cats clawed back to go up 49-46 on Camisha Alexander's 3-pointer with just over 17 minutes remaining.
Alexander's basket ignited an 19-8 Mountain Lions run that put Concord up 68-54 on Brown's free-throws at 8:58.
Behind eight points from Sara Trimarco (Hollidaysburg, Pa.) and a free-throw from Johnson Pitt-Johnstown got the deficit down to 73-69 with 1:49 left, but the Lady Cats were not able to complete the comeback.
Fratz' 14 points, three rebounds, and three assists led a balanced Pitt-Johnstown attack that saw five Lady Cats score in double figures.  Smith had 13 points and a team-high seven rebounds, while Loughner also scored 13 points.  Trimarco finished with 12 points, three rebounds, and four assists, and Rachel Johnson (Palmyra, Pa.) had 11 points and five rebounds.

Brown's game-highs of 27 points and 18 rebounds led the way for Concord.  Amanda Smith had 16 points, and Bertrand and Alexander had 12 and 11 points, respectively for the Mountain Lions, who improved to 7-1 overall and 5-1 in the WVIAC.
