Our Mission

The mission of the Department of Management and Marketing at Pitt-Johnstown is to prepare students with both a general education that is rich in the liberal arts, based on critical thinking skills development and a specialized education that establishes a core competency in a major functional area of business.

To accomplish this mission, we promote critical thinking and analysis in all of our course offerings.  This includes the use of rigorous student written and oral requirements designed to bolster several sets of skills.  Specifically, your course work will require you to work in groups (interpersonal skills), prepare case analyses and written presentations (diagnostic, analytical, and interpersonal skills), and deliver oral presentations (communication skills).
