The Pitt Johnstown men's and women's basketball teams, as well as several individuals, were ranked among the NCAA Division II national leaders in this year's final statistics released on Tuesday. Senior forward
Melissa Patterson
(Alexandria, Pa.), junior center
Samantha Conner
(Everett. Pa.) and sophomore guard
Allison Krischer
(Johnstown, Pa.) were ranked for the Lady Cats, while junior guard
Joey Tutchstone
(Vandergrift, Pa) was ranked for the Mountain Cats.
Final statistics are based on games played through March 27.
Patterson
was 10th in scoring at 22.3 points per game, 22nd in steals per game at 3.4 and 59th in free-throw percentage at 82.0%.
Conner
was 24th in free-throw percentage at 84.9% and 25th in field goal percentage at 55.5%, while
Krischer
was 45th in assists per game at 4.6.
Patterson
scored 603 points (22.3 ppg.), including 202 total field goals, 53 three-point field goals and 146 free-throws. She also had 91 steals (3.4 spg.) and converted on 146 of her 178 free-throws.
Conner
made 136 of her 245 field goal attempts for 55.5% and 90 of her 106 free-throws for 84.9%, while
Krischer
dished out 125 assists for an average of 4.6 per game.
As a team,
Head Coach Jodi Gault's
Lady Cats finished 5th in NCAA Division II in free-throw percentage at 78.1% (384-495), 9th in field goal percentage at 46.4% (719-1549), 21st in won-lost percentage at 77.8% (21-6), 32nd in scoring offense (73.8 ppg.), 40th in scoring margin (9.9 ppg.) and 46th in three-point field goal percentage at 34.5% (116-336).
Tutchstone,
who also led Pitt Johnstown in assists in 2003-04, finished 23rd in the country in assists per game. He dished out 135 assists in 25 games for an average of 5.4 assists per game. In addition,
Head Coach Bob Rukavina's
Mountain Cat men's team was 28th in three-point field goal percentage at 39.3% and 50th in field goal percentage at 47.5%. Pitt Johnstown converted on 179 of its 455 three-point attempts and 718 of its 1513 field goal attempts in 2004-05.
