As a Lady Cat
     In 25 games-played as a sophomore in 2010-11, Maria Montini averaged 4.1 points and 1.2 rebounds per game.  She shot 35.5% from behind the three-point line, and her 22 three-pointers ranked third on the team.  Montini also shot 38.8% (38-98) from the field and 5-6 from the free-throw line.
She scored in double-figures three times as a sophomore, including 12 points in a 4-5 effort from behind the three-point line against Ohio Valley (WV) University on January 27.
Montini appeared in 28 games and made five starts in her first season with the Lady Cats.  Montini made her presence known quickly on the team in 2009-10, averaging 5.4 points and 1.0 rebounds per game.  She shot 37.0% (50-135) from the field and 36.3% (37-102) from beyond the three-point arc.  Montini hit 76.5% (13-17) from the charity stripe.  She also dished out 29 assists and registered 14 steals last season for the Lady Cats.
Montini has posted single-game career-highs of 19 points against West Virginia Wesleyan College on Jan. 25, 2010 and four rebounds against Ohio Wesleyan University on Nov. 28, 2009 and four rebounds against Shepherd (WV) University on Feb. 17, 2011.

At Hempfield Area High School
     Maria Montini was a three-time WPIAL AAAA First-Team All-Section selection.  Montini, a four-year starter, averaged 14.4 points, 4.4 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game as a senior in 2008-09.  She finished her career with 1,021 points, 259 rebounds, 218 assists and 137 three-pointers.  Montini played in the 2009 Pennsylvania Roundball Classic All-Star Game and was a three-time Pittsburgh Tribune-Review Female Athlete of the Week choice.  Montini was also a Pittsburgh Tribune-Review Terrific Ten selection in both 2007 and 2009.  Montini scored 25 points on her way to being named Most Valuable Player of the 2009 Kenny Durrett Classic All-Star Game.  Montini also garnered All-Tournament Team honors at the Shaler-Etna Tip-Off Tournament in 2006 and 2007 and the Hempfield Area High School Christmas Tournament in 2007.  Montini was coached by Gene Brisbane at Hempfield Area High School.
