Important information for University of Pittsburgh Stafford/PLUS borrowers
Beginning with the 2010-2011 academic year, the University of Pittsburgh will begin participation in the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program. This change affects all Stafford and PLUS loan borrowers, including students at the Johnstown campus, whereas you will borrow Stafford or PLUS Loan funds directly from the U.S. Department of Education in place of a bank or credit union, as done in the past.
If you plan to borrow a Stafford or PLUS loan for the 2010-2011 academic year, you must complete a Direct Loan E-MPN and the Direct Loan Entrance Counseling prior to the disbursement of any loan funds. In the months to come, we will send additional information regarding these requirements.
