Cross Country Ninth in WVIAC Preseason Poll
08/01/11...The Lady Cat cross country team, under second-year Head Coach Jim Bowser, has been picked to finish ninth by the coaches in the 13-team WVIAC Preseason Poll. Concord (WV) University garnered 10 first-place votes and is the coaches' choice to claim the 2011 WVIAC women's cross country championship... (Full WVIAC Release)
Concord, the defending conference champions, picked up 10 first-place votes en route to accounting for 162 total points. Wheeling Jesuit (WV) University recorded two first-place nods and 154 total points. The Cardinals were chosen second in the league after tying for second at the conference championship a season ago.
Seton Hill University garnered 144 points and was picked third in the poll. West Virginia Wesleyan College picked-up the remaining first-place vote and was selected fourth, while Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College rounded out the top-five.
The 2011 WVIAC Cross Country Championship is set for October 29 in Athens, W.Va.
