bannerCongratulations to the Pitt-Johnstown Alumni Association on receiving a 2009 Gold Banner Award from the University of Pittsburgh Alumni Association.  This award recognizes the Association’s efforts to support scholarship, contribute to student success, and reconnect with alumni.  This is the second year in a row that the Pitt-Johnstown Alumni Association has received this very prestigious honor.

During the 2008-2009 academic year, the Alumni Association increased its endowed scholarship fund by 31% through its successful fundraising events.  Additionally, the organization partnered with the Office of Career Services to conduct a career and majors fair, which attracted more than 25 alumni to campus to speak with students about job opportunities in their field.  The Alumni Association also provides financial support to several areas on campus including the athletics programs, Owen Library, Zamias Aquatic Center, the Blue and Gold Society, and the annual Accounting and Management Job Fair.

The Pitt-Johnstown Alumni Association was founded in 1973, and represents the school’s more than 18,000 alumni.  Officers for the current year are: President – Gladys K. Go (’92), Vice-President – Jeffrey S. Philibin (’88), Treasurer – Melissa A, Bunk (’92), and Secretary – Jeanne M. Feathers (’87).
