
Baseball Picked Third in North in WVIAC Preseason Poll

West Virginia State tabbed the conference overall winner on five ballots. Seton Hill was chosen by four coaches to win the league. West Virginia Wesleyan College had three votes, and Shepherd (WV) University and Concord (WV) University each had one vote to win the league.
Seton Hill was the coaches choice to win the Northern Division with 89 points. The Griffins were first in the division on nine of the 14 ballots. Shepherd was second with 77 points, and Pitt-Johnstown was a solid third with 70 points. Alderson-Broaddus (WV) College (53 points), Wheeling Jesuit (WV) University (42 points), West Liberty (WV) University (40 points), and Fairmont State (19 points) were selected fourth through seventh, respectively.
In the Southern Division, West Virginia State garnered 92 total points. Of the 14 ballots, the Yellow Jackets were selected to finish first in its division by 10 coaches. West Virginia Wesleyan was second with 78 points, and Concord was third with 67 points. Davis & Elkins (WV) College was fourth with 56, followed by University of Charleston (WV) (45 points), Bluefield State (WV) College (29 points), and Ohio Valley (WV) University.
