Presentation:
Dr. Girard presented a general session during the conference for middle school math teachers entitled "Using Writing Exercises to Capture the Essence of Mathematics." The session presented ideas on incorporating writing into the middle school classroom; participants had an opportunity to try sample writing exercises and discussed how utilizing such in the classroom can demonstrate and capture the essence of a student's true mathematical understanding.
