"Intense choreography performed with astounding precision. BLAST! is simply stunning."-Cuong P. Hoang, South End News, Boston
It’s not Riverdance or Stomp, but it’s right up there in that league. It's an object lesson proving that true spectacle cannot be contained on a television screen (Blast! was contending with Survivor Wednesday night.) The spectacle, making its North American tour debut here, is an exuberant 15-number show that doesn't falter while bridging the categories of classical, blues, jazz, rock n roll, and techno-pop music. Blast! stands, blows, pounds, marches, and whirls with panache. It sent what seemed to be a full house into repeated bursts of cheering and applause. The thrill of seeing sheer virtuosity in a different kind of art form. It is entertainment of a high order."-Bruce McCabe, Boston Globe

Ridley is fantastic! She wants to make it on her own, not on her daughter's coat tails. Her voice is fantastic, and I think she did At Last much much better than either Etta James or Beyonce. She reminds me of Mahalia Jackson, who voice is absolutely the best I have ever heard! I am a big Susan Boyle fan, but Ridley has an ease about her that Boyle does not have. I hope she goes far, because of her talent. She will handle fame with a plomb and it won't get to her at all, except in a good way.
IT IS ALL HERE WHERE THE ARTS COME
